Daniel Debow - CEO and Co-Founder of Helpful.com Impacts of AI and HR Technology on Business Strategy

Daniel continued our discussion of AI and HI and how it impacts business strategy. From “HAL 9000” fiction to “Alexa” reality, AI has fascinated the masses for decades. AI now surrounds us in everyday life yet is hard for most of us to fully grasp or understand how it can be applied to our daily work. Daniel Debow is the CEO and Co-Founder of Helpful.com, a video performance app for work. Most recently, he was SVP, Emerging Technologies at Salesforce. Previously, Daniel was the Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Rypple, which was acquired by Salesforce in 2011. Prior to Rypple, Daniel was on the founding team of Workbrain, which was acquired by Infor in 2007. Daniel has made over 50 angel investments and in 2015 was recognized as Canada’s “Angel Investor of the Year”.

How can the everyday HR professional harness the power of AI?

Somen lead our 2018 Annual meeting by discussing how artificial intelligence works and it interacts within an HR environment and how that will lead to future trends in recruiting. Using real-life examples (think: Netflix, Amazon), Somen explained complex new technology into simple, relevant concepts. His talk contained data-backed analysis on what is possible right now and even more compelling, what the future holds for AI and HR.

Prior to Ideal, Somen served as Co- Founder and CEO of Field ID until it was successfully acquired in 2012. Somen’s accomplishments include spots on both the Profit Hot 50 and Deloitte Fast 50 lists. In 2012, Somen received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. Today, Somen works with his team at Ideal to build software that recruiters love.
